Frozen Vegetables

Why is it that frozen vegetables make the best "ice pack" for a sore head? I've been laying around the house for the past couple days with frozen lima beans and frozen broccoli on my head. They just seem to provide so much more relief than the average ice pack, haha! I'm feeling a TON better after surgery. I had my first post-opt appointment yesterday, not so fun, but just thankful to be feeling better today. Getting some rest in today before going to see "mama mia" at the National Theatre with Rick and Laurie.

Good times!

I'm so excited.....Going in for sinus surgery tomorrow, can't wait (sarcasm). I'm actually hoping that I'll be happy in the long run, but at the moment it's interrupting my week off before I start working for the summer. I'll let you know how it turns out....

One of my favorite things to do....Run. This was a picture that my friend took of me while running the Virginia Beach Rock-n-Roll 1/2 marathon. I love to run. I'm not very fast, but it's still fun. Well except when you are running at 5:30 in the morning and happen upon a naked man, that's not so fun....but I won't go into that story.
I went to REI today, those of you who don't know what REI is, SHOULD. I love that store. I bought a pair of black Chacos for my travels. They are a bit pricey, but the best sandals ever. You can hike, bike, climb rocks, walk through water, and over slippery rocks, and maneuver through rain sopped streets without falling on your butt. I have one pair already, but had to buy a black pair so I could wear them with dresses, etc. while traveling. I've gotta match a little bit, can't go completely earthy crunchy. I may have to take a picture of my new purchase and post it on here. I'm not sure if I can run in them, but I may try that out.

I thought I'd post a few pictures as I'm learning how to use this new blogging system. This was a picture that someone took of me in Vegas. Good times.

Summer is here!

Summer has officially begun. All of you who work in the schools have just breathed a big sigh of relief, unless you've signed up to work for the summer ;)! School ended last friday June 20th, and for me, it ended at about 7pm that evening....good times of packing my room and sorting through files. Thanks to Cat, I wasn't there until 10pm.

I have this week off, sorta, besides seeing my private students and having surgery on thursday. Then I will work for 6 weeks this summer. I leave for Honduras August 9th, the day after my summer position ends. Sooooo....in the next 6 weeks I will be packing up my apartment and figuring out whether or not I want to keep my worldly possessions or just get rid of them and start anew when I return from my travels. I'm still keeping my options open for my travels in the upcoming year. I've been leaning toward Argentina being my first stop after returning to the states in September....but that's open to change. I like the idea of going where the wind blows me and not having everything set in stone....good thing I'm traveling alone, since I'm sure that may drive someone else crazy.
